Highlignts of this retreat…
We’ll spend our first night in Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance and often referred to as an open-air museum. The next day we depart for our home-base for the rest of the trip, Spannocchia, a magical estate with eight centuries of history. It’s located on 1,100 acres, next to a nature preserve in the hills of Tuscany. There’s a castle, terraced gardens, orchards, and vineyards on this working organic farm. Spannocchia is a unique place, committed to preserving the original agricultural property and dedicated to promoting sustainable living. The Tenuta of Spannocchia produces certified organic olive oil, wine, and their vegetable garden provides produce for their authentic and delicious Tuscan seasonal cuisine.
We will be staying in the Castello di Spannocchia’s Villa. These rooms occupy the original structure, built in the 16th century, and expanded in the 18th century. It is furnished with historic paintings, original antiques, and family heirlooms. The views are superb.
There will be optional daily morning yoga classes and meditation, as well as sessions of relaxing yoga in the late afternoon. Hikes will be offered to those who’d like to explore the nature preserve, and the pool is still open for swimming in early September.
As visitors here we’ll enjoy one of the most scenic, tranquil spots on earth, and have the opportunity to experience daily life on a historic working farm, surrounded by beauty and immersed in la dolce vita.
