Self Care Isn't Just Luxuries

It's more important than ever these days to ground ourselves in self-love and self-care. We can weave this into our day in this in simple but powerful ways: taking a few deeper breaths, grocery shopping so we have food in the house, including some downtime on our schedule, and above all, being kinder to ourselves.

The events in our personal lives and in the world today might leave us feeling mentally and emotionally shaken. Complex thoughts and feelings are arising as we go through this pandemic time period. If they are left unaddressed or suppressed under ever increasing busyness or distraction, our life force energy can become blocked, and illness sets in. Anxiety and depression are forms illness might take.

Self-care can be taking shelter in the storm, pausing for a crucial moment to feel what's REALLY under the surface. Give yourself a moment to sink into the new reality of our new redefined existence.

Replenishment can be especially important when things are changing so fast. Recovering physically and resting deeply are key during wobbly, unsure times. It's possible to create a "safe nest", a comfortable physical space and a schedule of simple, essential things to help you repair and rebalance: sleeping well, feeding yourself, and adding some movement to your life to give you more energy.
